Moss Marine death being inspected
A death investigation at Moss Marine is being inspected by the Occupational Safety and Health Administration.
On Tuesday, April 14, at approximately 12:44 p.m., Lee County Sheriff’s Office Deputies responded to the 450 Harbor Ct. business in reference to a work-related fall and subsequent death investigation. Danny Balensiefer, age 52, reportedly fell through a roof at Moss Marine and passed due to the incident last week.
Due to the nature of the incident, detectives with the Major Crimes Unit responded.
According to the police report, the incident was investigated jointly by Lee County Sheriff’s Office, the Medical Examiner’s Office and OSHA. OSHA is now inspecting the cause of death and stated the inspection may take months to complete.
