Andre Mar house fire ruled as accident

Beach Fire officials check out the garage area of a structure at 120 Andre Mar last week. The house was destroyed after an early morning fire collapsed the roof and did extreme structural damage.
An official investigation involving a house fire at 120 Andre Mar Dr. that was suspected to begin in the early morning hours on Thursday, April 23 has been concluded, according to Fort Myers Beach Fire Control District officials.
“We are ruling it as an accidental fire with probably electrical or mechanical etiology,” said Capt. Ron Martin, District fire marshal.
The blaze was said to have begun in the garage and eventually collapsed the home’s roof. The house has been deemed a total loss as well as the RV that was parked outside and nearby the structure. According to fire officials, nobody was hurt in the incident.
