Sign your guests up for Town pool usage

While some Fort Myers Beach business leaders are lamenting from their guests’ complaints about poor water quality in the Gulf, others are finding an alternative for their visitors to get in a swim or cool down from the September heat.
Enter the Bay Oaks Recreational Campus corporate membership rate, including usage to the Town Municipal Pool.
With this discounted program, any Fort Myers Beach business located within the Town of Fort Myers Beach corporate limits can participate. Membership to Bay Oaks allows members to use the center’s facilities, participate in all campus programs and receive reduced fee-based activities.
“For those who do not have pool or workout facilities or things of that nature, you can buy a membership to our facilities in block. That way you can hand them out to your visitors to use at their discretion,” said Town Manager Terry Stewart. “It’s very cost affective. We have memberships out already, and received good feedback.”
Stewart made the comment to several business representatives who attended a round-table discussion with Sen. Lizbeth Benacquisto last week. The discussion involved stated damage to the hospitality industry and other businesses due to high flow regulatory freshwater releases being discharged from Lake Okeechobee into the Caloosahatchee River that have affected Southwest Florida beachfront waters. The clear blue Gulf water has been darker as of late.
“We have the facilities available to help offset the impact,” said Stewart.
