Matanzas Waterfront Grill names new GM
Doug Speirn-Smith, owner of Matanzas Inn & Resort, recently named Beach resident Glen Petrarca as general manager of Matanzas Waterfront Grill & Upper Deck Bar. Petrarca will be responsible for overseeing the operations of the Fort Myers Beach based restaurant that recently celebrated their 28th anniversary.
“Glen’s expertise will bring our restaurants to a higher level,” said Smith. “This is especially important as we undergo a complete remodeling of the resort rooms this summer, and then a re-Grand Opening of our guest accommodations and dining venues planned for the fall.”
Petrarca earned a Bachelor of science degree in international business and economics from the University of New Hampshire. His previous restaurant experience includes Panera Bread, Sandbar & Grille and Iguana Mia, where he also served as the general manager.
