Newton Park continues to offer Yoga

Looking for a relaxing workout while watching a sunset?

Consider the art of yoga this summer at Newton Park.

The Town Cultural Resources Department is offering Yoga at the 4650 Estero Blvd.

location every Tuesday from 5:45 to 6:45 p.m. However, the event will not take place on

July 3.

Yoga has long been considered a peaceful activity, a way to pause the constant mindless

chatter your brain creates throughout the day. Even with Beginning Yoga, students can

benefit from yoga after just one class. If they concentrate on deep breathing techniques

and focus the mind on the breath, they will feel less stressed and more relaxed with their

first session!

Research has even proved there are a number of biochemical responses that occur in the

brain during yoga to back up the stress relief claims. Studies have shown a decrease in

catecholamine’s hormones released by the adrenal glands in response to stress. These

hormones, dopamine, norepinephrine, and epinephrine, create a feeling of calm and

relaxation in addition to feeling connected to others.

What better time to unwind and de-stress than sunset on the beach? Join Susan Carter,

RYT, for Yoga at Seven Seas Newton Park at 5:45 p.m. and gaze at the sun dropping into

the beautiful Gulf as you transition into your next pose.
