Pedestrian killed crossing San Carlos Bouldvard in Iona area
An 87-year-old woman from Fort Myers was struck and killed by a vehicle while crossing San Carlos Boulevard in the Iona area at 7:32 p.m. last night, according to a report by the Florida Highway Patrol.
Marjorie Grayson was attempting to cross the northbound lanes of SR-865 just south of Beach Walk Boulevard when she was struck by a 2000 Chevrolet Corvette driven by Paula Palovich of Warren, Ohio. Grayson was pronounced dead at the scene.
Though the case is still under investigation, it was ruled accidental. There was no alcohol related in the incident, and the victim was reported to have entered the path of the vehicle in the outside lane.
