LCSO plans vehicle safety checkpoint this week
As part of the Lee County Sheriff’s Office commitment to public safety on our roadways, an inspection checkpoint will be conducted this week. The inspections will take place at an undisclosed location.
This traffic safety initiative is intended to educate and inform the public about traffic safety issues while helping to mitigate traffic fatalities, injuries, crashes and criminal activity in Lee County. Also, drivers who do not possess a valid driver’s license or may have a revoked or suspended license are identified. Individuals who have not properly registered or insured their vehicle are detected, too.
Vehicle safety checkpoints, saturation patrols and other coordinated activities are scheduled throughout the year in the interest of public safety. Buckle up, keep your eyes on the road and make traffic safety a priority everyday! Media inquiries are directed to the Public Information Officer at 477-1340.
