FOLKS offers membership and volunteering opportunity
Friends of Lovers Key, or more commonly known as FOLKS, is a non-profit group established to protect, preserve and support Lovers Key State Park. FOLKS is a Citizen Support Organization given special status by Florida law which makes it possible for members to support their favorite state park through fund raising and volunteering. They step in to aid the park with purchases that might not be feasible with the regular park budgets. FOLKS members also provide crucial support for special events at the park during the course of the year.

FOLKS Family members receive
– Membership card and subscription to FOLKS newsletter
– Free park entry 12 times a year
– Eligible for selected member only special events
– A $5 discount on all Nature Series and Special Programs
Memberships are available at other levels as well, with additional benefits (Corporate Gold, Corporate Platinum and Lifetime).
If you are already a member of FOLKS we know you are interested in continuing improvements to the park, its facilities, programs, etc. Fund raising is a major role in that effort. You are probably familiar with our great FOLKS t-shirts. Originally only available in white, at last, a new wonderful assortment of colors in both shirts and tanks were introduced. A small group of volunteers come out to the park a few hours each month to sell these shirts at the tram station. It has been very successful, but MORE volunteers are needed! If you feel you could spare some time to help for a few hours, then stay to enjoy the park, please call the park office at 463-4588 and leave a message for Neeley Murphy.
