It’s the largest single seizure of cloned credit cards by the Lee County Sheriff’s Office. A traffic stop conducted by a Lee County deputy on Interstate 75 Sunday afternoon netted 123 cloned credit cards with an approximate value of nearly one million dollars if used as intended.

Detectives with the Lee County Sheriff’s Office Economic Crimes Unit say the bogus cards contained the credit information of skimmed credit card accounts belonging to unsuspecting victims of identity theft.

Arrested in connection with the case are:

Marcos Duarte, DOB 12-25-76, of Tampa

Mario Alan, DOB 3-20-86, of Fort Lauderdale

Juan Carlos Sanchez-Reyes, DOB 9-11-75, of Las Vegas

All three are charged with Possession of Cloned Credit Cards and Trafficking in Cloned Credit Cards.

The United States Secret Service also responded to assist in the investigation.
