What’s Happening at Chapel by the Sea
We are a mission for Jesus Christ and a church for all seasons-seasons of life-seasons of the year-seasons of our growth as Christians.
Our congregation continues to grow each week with the return of our northern friends, and we are excited to have them back with us. It is good to see familiar faces and also good to welcome visitors who may be on vacation or may be new to the area and looking for a church home. We have a lot to offer at Chapel and we invite you to take part in worship and the many various activities we provide.
Our Table Sale will be held this weekend on Saturday, Oct. 29, from 8 a.m. to 2 p.m. There is still time to reserve your table or to make a donation to the Chapel tables. Call Dottie for details at 454-1638. Come back the following day, Sunday, Oct. 30, for our Youth Fundraiser/Pasta Dinner immediately following our 10 a.m. worship service. What’s Happening at Chapel by the Sea
Chapel by the Sea was the first church on our island and remains a church for the community, welcoming all people seeking to know and serve Christ.
It seems each week more and more of our northern friends are returning for the winter, and we are pleased to welcome them back. Many of our programs are returning as well and we invite everyone to participate in any or all of them. This Friday, Oct. 14,
“Dinner and a Movie” returns. Doors open at 5:30; dinner is at 6, then followed by the movie “Soul Surfer” at 6:45.This month’s dinner will be ribs, potato salad, and baked beans. Bring a friend; all are welcome! KidZ Night will be held the same evening upstairs in the Christian Education building. This program is for Kids of all ages and includes dinner, games, crafts and more.
Operation Christmas Child -Shoe Boxes Full of Love- celebrate God’s gift to us with a gift to a needy child. Last year, Chapel donated 135 boxes. The deadline for this year is Nov. 6. How to pack a box? Use a standard size shoebox or plastic container (Sterlite or Rubbermaid are best). Wrap the box and lid separately. Decide if your gift will be for a boy or girl and their age group (2-4, 5-9,10-14). Label the box. Pray for the child who will receive your gift. Fill the box with toys, school supplies, hygiene items, games, etc. Please do not include war-related items, chocolate or food, lotions, or glass containers. Include a check for $7 to cover shipping and other costs made payable to Samaritan’s Purse. Place it in an envelope on top of the gift items. Place a rubber band around the box and bring it to the church by Nov. 6. If you prefer not to shop, contributions to the project are greatly appreciated. Our Table Sale will take place on Saturday, Oct. 29 from 8 a.m. to 2 p.m.
You can “rent” a 6-foot table; $10 for the first table and $5 for each additional table. You will be in charge of your own “garage sale” which includes setting up, selling and cleaning up when it is over. For more information or to reserve your space, call Dottie Callahan at 454-1638. On Oct. 30, our youth will hold their Fundraiser/Pasta Dinner after the worship service.
Please join us for worship on Sunday mornings at 10 a.m. Children’s Church and a nursery are also offered at this time. Stay and visit after the service during our coffee hour in Silver Hall; we would love to see you! For more information on any of the happenings at Chapel please call the office at 463-3173 or visit our website at www.chapelbts.org.

You can begin now to prepare your boxes filled with small toys (no war toys please), school supplies, etc. for distribution to needy children in mid-November.
