Orpheus Players to hold play in November
The Beach Arts Cooperative is proud to announce upcoming The Orpheus Players’ performance dates for the original play, “Sisters of the Sea.”
Written by Sandra Riley and directed by Elizabeth D’Onofrio, “Sisters of the Sea” is a true story about the lives of famous female pirates Anne Bonny (Keri Hendry) and Mary Read (Lydia Frantz). The play is based on Riley’s book with the same name – to which she committed years of research and tells the tale of Bonny and Read’s relationship with each other, the men in their lives and why they chose to abandon society for the “sweet trade.”
Don’t miss this funny and bittersweet glimpse into the lives of two inspiring women who dared to break all the rules! Featuring sword-fighting choreography by Diana Waldier, the play will be performed at the Sydney Berne Davis Center on Friday, Nov. 11, at 8 p.m. ($20); at ‘Paint the Beach’ festival at Santini Marina Plaza on Sunday, Nov. 20, at 2 p.m. ($30 includes hors d’ouerves and cash bar); the beachfront on a stage set in the sand behind Holiday Inn on Tuesday, Nov. 22, with a 6 p.m. reception and 7 p.m. show ($30 includes hors d’ouerves and cash bar).
