1 min read

The Florida Department of Environmental Protection’s Lovers Key State Park will host the annual Great Outdoor Adventure Day on Oct. 29, from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m.

Visitors can experience all the recreational opportunities that Lovers Key offers at the event.

Guided adventures, mostly free activities, will be running throughout the day, including bicycle tours of Black Island, birding and estuary walks, geocaching excursions, fishing and cast netting clinics and creative activities for all ages.

Triak, paddleboard, kayak and canoe demonstrations and guided kayak tours will offer both novice and expert paddlers something to celebrate. Demonstrations, on-water instruction and other paddling-related opportunities have been scheduled. Kayak, canoe and bike use accompanies tours; while day- and half-day rentals are available at the gift shop.

Exhibitors will include environmental organizations, nature centers as well as outdoor equipment and healthy lifestyle vendors. The band “Cruzanvibes” will play through the event and food and beverages will be on sale.

Admission to the event is included with the park entrance fee ($8 per vehicle for up to 8 people, $4 for single occupancy vehicle and $2 for pedestrians and bicyclists).
