CMCS shows 46th annual Summerset Regatta results

The Caloosahatchee Marching and Chowder Society sponsored its 46th annual Summerset Regatta on Saturday and Sunday, October 8-9, in the Gulf of Mexico off of Fort Myers Beach.

The weather was perfect for a regatta with easterly breezes off the beach and calm seas. Four races were held over the two-day period. More than 150 sailors from Charlotte Harbor to Naples competed in seven classes on 36 boats, making it one of the biggest regattas in the Fort Myers area. Proceeds from this regatta will be used to benefit youth sailing.

Regatta results are as follows:

Multi-Hull Division

Spinnaker Division A

1.Midnite Rider (Forrest Banks);

2.T Bone (Jason Richards);

3.Macushla (Joel Andrews).

Spinnaker Division B

1.Blew By U II (Jacek Wierzbick);

2.Blue Bayou (Kevin Wensley);

3.SROFM (Kurt Martin).

Non-Spinnaker Division A

1.Fancy Free (Jerry Poquette);

2.Air Supply (Steve Romaine);

3.Essence (Paul McDill).

Non-Spinnaker Division B

1.Desperado (Cecil Hazen);

2.Fair Trade (Joe Martinez);

3.Bentley (Tom Horner).

True Cruising Division A

1.Jabu (Rex Goode);

2.Jolly Mon (David Naumann);

3.Panache (Dayton Doney).

True Cruising Division B
