Beach Art Association set to open season
The Fort Myers Beach Art Association opens the 2011-12 season this Saturday (Oct. 15) with the “Anything Goes All Member Show” at the gallery on Donora and Shell Mound. Running until Nov. 10, this display of member’s art will feature media and styles of all kinds, some not usually seen at the gallery. Sculpture, photography and other genres will be displayed along with the two dimensional paintings we usually see here. A potluck on Oct. 20 kicks off the season for the art association and welcomes everyone back. Any one interested in becoming a member or knowing a little more about the organization is welcome to join us for dinner and a short meeting. Call the gallery at 463-3909 to sign up.
The upcoming 2011/2012 season at the Fort Myers Beach Art Association is going to be a busy one. Right now on Wednesday and Thursday mornings, you can find artists painting at the gallery, but after Oct. 20 the gallery will be open Monday through Saturday from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. and Sundays noon to 3. Stop by to see the shows, the activities and perhaps take a piece of artwork home with you. It is always for sale.
