LCSO deputies search for iPad bandits
Lee County deputies are searching for the three suspects that made off with more than $60,000 worth of Apple iPads from the Best Buy at Coconut Point Mall.
Deputies were called to the Best Buy on Sept. 10th at 4:47 am. Upon arrival, they observed the back door to the business had been pried open. Inside the store, a cage door had also been pried open and 60-90 Apple iPads were missing.
The three suspects targeted only the iPads and were in and out of the store in two minutes. Their heads were covered and they wore gloves.
A Best Buy store in Manatee County was burglarized in the same fashion on Sept. 4th. There, the suspects stole more than $50,000 worth of iPads. Detectives say the incidents appear to be the work of the same suspects.
