Get tickets for Fort Myers High bash
Alumni, parents and friends of Fort Myers High School can now purchase tickets to Green and White Ball, a 100-year celebration of excellence held Saturday, Oct. 22.
The public event will take place at Harborside Event Center and honors all past alumni and supporters who have contributed to the academic and athletic success of one of the longest established schools in the state.
Tables for eight guests are available for $550; individual tickets are only $55 each and include the welcome reception at 5 p.m. followed by an awards tribute and dinner and dancing at 6 p.m.
Guests will enjoy a silent auction, performances by the Fort Myers High School Band and Riptide dance team, presentation of colors by ROTC and special guest appearances by some of the communities’ most well known “Greenies.”
The Greenie of Distinction award will also be presented at the Green and White Ball to an alumnus or alumna who has demonstrated excellence in his or her professional life, service to the community and to FMHS. Nominations must be submitted to stefanie_ink@afgfl.com by Sept. 15.
All proceeds from the event benefit the athletic, band and ROTC booster clubs, and the founding of an alumni association.

Fort Myers High School recently was notified it has been named one of the nation’s top International Baccalaureate programs in terms of number of IB diplomas earned by students.
In keeping with the motto, “Fort Myers High School, Where Excellence Is A Tradition,” Fort Myers High IB seniors were awarded the fifth-most diplomas out of 72 IB schools in Florida. In addition, Fort Myers High was awarded the sixth-most IB diplomas out of 753 IB high schools in the United States. This places Fort Myers High in the top 1 percent of IB programs in the nation.
“This accomplishment could not have been possible without the efforts of the entire Greenwave family,” said David LaRosa, Fort Myers High’s principal. “Our faculty, staff, students, alumni, parents and community can all share in the pride that comes with this tremendous honor.”
The school consistently rates as one of the nation’s top high schools, earning numerous recognition and honors, including Newsweek magazine (72nd best high school in the U.S.) and The Washington Post (raking as the 91st best high school in America.)
The International Baccalaureate program aims to develop inquiring, knowledgeable and caring young people who help to create a better and more peaceful world through intercultural understanding and respect. The organization works with schools, governments and international organizations to develop challenging programs of international education and rigorous assessment. These programs encourage students across the world to become active, compassionate and lifelong learners who understand that other people, with their differences, can also be right.
