Town issues a precautionary boil water notice

1 min read

Due to a water break servicing a fire hydrant, water service was interrupted beginning at 2 a.m. on Friday, Aug. 12, 2011 for residents and businesses in the following area: 6640 Estero Blvd to 8402 Estero Blvd on the Gulf side and 6645 Estero Blvd. to 8403 Estero Blvd. on the Bay side. Side streets included in this boil water notice are as follows: Albatross Street, Fairview Boulevard, Palmview Boulevard, Sunview Boulevard, Clearview Boulevard, Lennell Road, Bay Beach Lane, Buccaneer Drive, Lagoon Road, Redfish Road, Tarpon Road and Estrellita Drive.

Once water is restored there will be a precautionary boil water notice in effect.

Therefore, as a precaution, you are advised that all water used for drinking or cooking be boiled. A rolling boil of one minute is sufficient. As an alternative bottled water may be used.

This “precautionary boil water notice” will remain in effect until the problem has been corrected and a bacteriological survey shows the water is safe to drink. Please monitor this site and local news broadcasts for updates.
