Soccer camp comes to Bay Oaks

Coaches and parents of youth soccer teams are asked to participate in an instructional soccer camp at Bay Oaks Recreational Campus on Saturday, August 6, from 10 a.m. to noon.

Challenger Sports has partnered with the National Soccer Coaches Association of America — the largest coaching organization in the world-to provide more than 1,000 coach education programs throughout the USA and Canada. Attendees will be given instruction on organizing and coaching a youth soccer practice as well as demonstrations of core techniques and a wide selection of useful drills, practices and games that soccer coaches can put into immediate use.

Attendees will also receive an NSCAA approved coaching booklet, an NSCAA Approved Certificate, an NSCAA patch and one year introductory membership to the NSCAA, plus a number of additional discounts and benefits from NSCAA affiliates.

The format will include organizing players and setting up of practices areas; coaching tips and communication techniques; demonstration of core skills including passing, control, dribbling and shooting; progressive coaching (warm up, unopposed, opposed, game related, and questions and answers.

Participants are asked to bring a soccer ball. Attendees receive an NSCAA-approved Coaching Booklet and will be mailed an NSCCA certificate, patch and membership details.

The cost is free to coaches affiliated to clubs hosting a Challenger Camp (Regular fee $30 per coach).
