Police plead for public’s help identifying potential pilferer
Southwest Florida Crime Stoppers is asking for the public’s help identifying a man who is
considered a person of interest in a car burglary at a Fort Myers convenience store.
According to the Fort Myers Police Department, the victim parked her car around 8:30
p.m. at the Circle K convenience store at 3038 Cleveland Avenue on July 6th. About 10
minutes later, she returned to her car, only to find her purse, which had been in the right
rear seat, and her cell phone, which was in the center console, missing. Surveillance
cameras captured images of a man who was seen next to the car during that time frame.
Police believe he gained entry into the car through the unlocked rear passenger door, and
removed several items. He is described as a Hispanic male, with a possible tattoo on his
neck.
Anyone with information on the identity of the potential suspect is asked to call Crime
Stoppers at 1-800-780-TIPS (8477). All callers will remain anonymous and will be eligible
for a cash reward of up to $1,000. Tips may also be made online at
