LCSO’s undercover operation turns up cocaine, pills and pot, but no charcoal
When detectives with the Lee County Sheriff’s Office Narcotics Unit infiltrated a drug house, they discovered there was plenty of “cooking” going on, but not a lot of “grilling.”
Responding to complaints from residents and business owners in the area of Palm Beach Boulevard and Johnson Avenue in Fort Myers, detectives conducted an undercover operation at 416 Johnson Avenue. During the operation, crack cocaine was purchased at the residence on three separate occasions. Field tests showed the cocaine was real which allowed detectives to obtain a search warrant for the residence.
On Aug. 26, 2011, the search warrant was executed. Inside the residence, detectives discovered baggies containing powder and crack cocaine. But the big discovery occurred just outside of the residence. Inside a charcoal bag, detectives found 120 Roxicodone pills, 4.5 grams of powder cocaine, 18 grams of crack, but alas, no charcoal. Also inside the bag were various utensils used to cook down cocaine into crack. The utensils tested positive for cocaine.
Detectives arrested Barry White, DOB 4-10-87, of 703 Richmond Avenue, Lehigh Acres, and charged him with Sale of Cocaine, Possession of Cocaine and Trafficking of an Opiate or derivative.
The investigation continues and additional arrests are expected.
