09/11/11: National Day of Service and Remembrance – Donate Blood to Save Lives

Sept. 11, 2011, marks the 10-year anniversary of 9/11. The federal government has declared this day a National Day of Service and Remembrance. People are encouraged to perform community services like giving blood. Blood donations today are just as important as they were 10 years ago when the nation came together to give life to others.

People are strongly encouraged to roll up their sleeves this 9/11 weekend to give the ultimate community service by giving blood. Blood donations save lives! Florida’s Blood Centers will be holding remembrance blood drives September 9 through September 11.

Registered donors will receive a commemorative 9/11 T-shirt. and will be entered to

win a 2 night stay at Estero Pointe on Fort Myers Beach. Other local sponsors include: Sun Sports Cycle & Watercraft, American Red Cross Lee County chapter, McDonald’s, Sunstream Hotels & Resorts, Chili’s, Southern Self Storage, Enterprise and Collision Revision and Radiology Regional.
