3 min read

If you’re looking to do something different at someplace different this weekend, consider the 15th annual MangoMania Tropical Fruit Festival on the grounds at the German-American Social Club at 2101 SW Pine Island Road in Cape Coral this weekend. The fruity event is scheduled for Saturday, July 30 and Sunday, July 31.

Named one of the Top 20 Events in the Southeast for July by the Southeast Tourism Society, MangoMania is sponsored by the Greater Pine Island Chamber of Commerce, the News-Press Media Group, the Breeze Newspapers, LCEC, SW Florida Parrot, Coastal Gigs, Terrasi Media, the Lee County Visitor and Convention Bureau, Honc Industries, April’s Island Salon and Caloosa Tent and Rental.

“MangoMania is shaping up to be an exciting 2-day festival this year,” stated Lisa Benton of the Greater Pine Island Chamber of Commerce in her press release. “Join in the tropical hat parade each day, participate in one of the games or contests, prepare you favorite mango recipe for the Food Judging contest, taste local mangoes and other tropical fruit and experience “All Things Mango.”

Live entertainment is scheduled throughout the event. Local favorites such as Soap Box, Mike Iambasciani, Stringtown, Caribbean Clint and the Mary Winters Band of Fort Myers Beach will perform. There will also be performances each day by the Hot Flashz, the Calendar Girls and the Arthur Murray Dancers, which are three area dance groups.

Advance tickets for MangoMania Tropical Fruit Festival are now available at TIB banks at all their branches in Lee County including Fort Myers, Cape Coral, and Pine Island as well as Stonegate Bank (previously SW Capital Bank), SunTrust Bank on Pine Island and the Pine Island Chamber of Commerce Welcome Center.

The advance tickets are $5 each, a savings of one dollar on general admission the days of the festival.

The Pine Island Chamber of Commerce thanks each of its sponsors, particularly our local businesses that are supporting MangoMania.
