Estero firefighters take on Pinewoods Elementary students
On Friday, June 10, 2011, Estero Fire Rescue firefighters will take on the Pinewoods Elementary School fifth graders in their annual kickball game, marking the end of the school year.
For the past six years, firefighters have faced off with teachers and fifth graders in a winner-takes-all game that helps promote fitness while building a relationship between the students and the firefighters.
Firefighters and staff look forward to the game every year. “It is always a great time and the kids really enjoy it” stated Lt. Jeff Brann.
