On Friday, June 17, 2011, at approximately 4:30 a.m., a member of the Lee County Metal Theft Task Force observed two subjects on the roof of the First Haitian Baptist Church, 3106 Broadway Avenue, Fort Myers, Florida. The two individuals tried to hide as additional units converged. One suspect jumped from the roof and ran west, while the second was seen running from the parking lot into a wooded area south of the church. A deputy with his K9 partner tracked the second burglar to a canal a short distance away. He was successfully apprehended and is identified as 25 year old (d.o.b. 6-3-86) Sean Abram Hicks of 603 Maple Avenue, Lehigh Acres, Florida.

Further investigation by members of the task force, made up of deputies and officers with the Lee County Sheriff’s Office, Cape Coral Police Department and Fort Myers Police Department, revealed the pair were in the process of dismantling an air conditioning unit. A broken window and approximately 50 feet of rain gutter and drip edge were damaged by the felons as they fled. The second suspect remains at-large. The investigation continues.

Members of the task force are attempting to locate and speak with a person of interest, 24-year-old (d.o.b. 7-24-86) Daniel Dwayne Sherry of Fort Myers (photo attached).
