LCSO reports victim breaks up burglary; suspects sought
On Thursday, May 12, 2011, deputies with the Lee County Sheriff’s Office responded to 14110 Cedardale Street, Fort Myers, in reference to a residential burglary. Deputies learned the victim had just returned home and entered his house through the garage. Upon entering, he saw two black males inside the home. When they became aware of the victim’s presence, the suspects ran, exiting through a back door. The victim chased the suspects a short distance before losing track of them. Responding deputies set up a perimeter as members of the Lee County Sheriff’s Office Aviation, and K9 Unit’s, responded to assist with the investigation.
Neither of the suspects was located during the search. Both are described as young black males, roughly five feet, seven inches tall. One of the men was wearing a black shirt, while the other was shirtless. One of the suspects was wearing plaid shorts.
The preliminary investigation indicates nothing was stolen from the residence during the incident. The homeowner was not harmed, as there was never an actual physical confrontation between the victim and suspects.
