Three new members were initiated, new officers were installed, and the first Foundation Star was honored at the final meeting of the first year of the Fort Myers Beach Community Foundation last week.

Donations for the designated charities and organizations to benefit from the fundraising of this year were confirmed by the membership and will be given in the upcoming weeks.

Membership Chairperson Judy Owen and Foundation President Kate Duffy initiated Donna Maul, Jo List and Dusty Laurie. Two additional members, Kathy Poff and Sarah Fischer, were approved for membership and will be welcomed in the fall.

Officers installed are as follows: President- Kate Duffy; Vice President-Anita Cereceda; Secretary-Nicole Bennett; Treasurer-Nancy Mullholland; Judy Kilburg-Director; Alicia Steinhagen-Director; and Lois Parker-Director. Judy Owen will continue as Membership Chairperson.

Kate Duffy was awarded the Foundation Star, which will be given annually for the member who has contributed most for their work in the Beach Foundation. Nancy Mullholland was honored with a floral bouquet for her work as treasurer during the difficult transition from the Pilot Club to the Community Foundation.
