Town sells trees for Arbor Day

The 2011 Arbor Day Proclamation was read at the April 4th Council meeting. Mayor Kiker proclaimed Friday, April 29th, 2011 an Arbor Day celebration on Fort Myers Beach.
The proclamation was accepted by Becky Bodnar, Estero Island Garden Club President.
The Town and the Estero Island Garden Club will be celebrating Arbor Day on Fort Myers Beach, beginning with a Proclamation reading at the new grounds at the Mound House, 289 Connecticut on Friday, April 29, at 2 p.m. Then the purchased trees will be distributed to the residents.
This year, the following half-priced trees (the Town pays the other half) in 7-gallon containers will be available for purchase from now until April 22: Foxtail Palms ($16.50); Christmas Palms ($16.50); Orange Geiger ($20) and Crape Myrtle ($17.50).
