FMBAA artists hold ART BAZAAR 2 fundraiser
The Fort Myers Beach Art Association ART BAZAAR 2, a scholarship fundrauiser, will take place at Santini Marina Plaza on south Fort Myers Beach on Saturday, April 23. The sale will take place from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. and include paintings created with watercolor, oil, acrylic and hand painted silk. Themes of the artwork range from vibrant Fort Myers scenes by Pauline Healey to florals, tranquil landscapes and vivid abstract paintings. The artists participating in the ART BAZAAR work both realistically and abstractly providing a wide range of styles for the discriminating art collector.
Proceeds from the ART BAAZAR go directly to the art scholarships given each April to seniors from the local high school art programs who plan to follow an art career in college. Don’t miss this opportunity to purchase incredible art by local artists and help the next generation of artists at the same time. The awards will be handed to the Scholarship winners on April 17, from 3-5 p.m. at the Fort Myers Beach Art Association gallery on Donora.
The FMBAA has a gallery on Donora Street. Artworks by the associations’ artists are for sale in the gallery. Six gallery shows are hung in the gallery over the course of a year. The FMBAA is also a working gallery. Artist’s workshops are held several times a year in many different 2-D media and are open to the public. There is a fee for these workshops. Members meet informally two to three days a week to participate in gesture/portrait drawing and painting, experimental painting, indoor painting and plein air painting. Please consider becoming a member and stop by to see the outstanding shows as well as artists at work creating more.
The gallery is open Monday through Saturday from 10am to 3pm and on Sunday from noon to 3pm until April 21 when summer hours of 9 a.m. to noon on Wednesdays and Thursdays begin and remain until mid October.
