What’s Happening at Chapel by the Sea
We are a church for the community and we welcome all people seeking to know and serve Christ. We invite you to join us for any and all of the many things that happen at Chapel.
The Fort Myers Beach Shrimp Festival takes place this weekend. Come to Chapel to watch the annual Shrimp Parade! The bridge will be closed from 9 a.m. to noon, so get there early so you don’t miss any of the fun. Not sure where to park? Our Youth Group will be parking cars at Chapel and selling hot dogs, snacks, and drinks to help make your parade experience more convenient and enjoyable, and to raise money for Youth Programs. It will be a fun filled day you won’t want to miss! Speaking of our Youth, the next group meeting is March 18. This program is for middle and high school youth and is held monthly from 6 to 9 pm. Please call Melody Tibbs at 560-2041 with any questions. We have several youth programs at Chapel and we desperately need snackswill you help? We are currently in need of snack/meal donations, gift cards, or monetary donations. Please bring any perishable food donations to the office so they can be stored properly. Some ideas: fresh veggies and fruit, pretzels, Go-gurt (yogurt), string cheese, peanut butter, granola bars, etc. Any size or quantity will help greatly. We also recycle your used ink jet cartridges, bring them to Silver Hall and place them in the green and white box. These proceeds also help our youth programs. Chapel’s presence in our young people’s lives does make a difference.

What’s Happening at Chapel by the Sea
Chapel by the Sea was the first church on our island and remains a church for the community, welcoming all people seeking to know and serve Christ. We are a mission for Jesus Christ and a church for all seasons- seasons of life-seasons of the year-seasons of our growth as Christians.
We would love to have you join us for many of the activities happening at Chapel. Sunday, March 6, we are pleased to welcome the Indian Creek Choir who will sing during our worship services. Holy Communion will be served this Sunday as well. We continue to have two services 8 and 10 a.m. through Easter. The season of Lent begins with Ash Wednesday service at 11 a.m. Participate in Lenten practices with your family during this season of Lent. Meditation, prayer, self examination, special commitments, good deeds, fasting, studying scripture, and participation in church worship services and events can help you feel reconnected and whole-spiritually, mentally, and physically- as well as help you experience the full joy of Easter! Our trips to the Soup Kitchen in Immokalee are scheduled for March 9 and March 25. Plan to join the Chapel volunteers. The Chapel bus leaves at 9:15 a.m. and returns around 2:30 p.m. Call the office to reserve your seat. Dinner & a Movie will be held March 11, from 6-9 p.m. in Silver Hall (doors open at 5:30) KidZ Night is held the same night upstairs. This month’s dinner is meatloaf at 6:00 pm and the movie is The Blindside which starts at 6:45 p.m. All are welcome; please call the office to reserve your seat.
Have guests for the season? Chapel offers a Lending Closet for items you may not always keep on hand. Strollers, hi-chairs, booster seats and a variety of items may be borrowed from our supply. This is a service to our community, however donations are always appreciated. Call the office for a complete list of items available. Sisters in Spirit will meet on March 8, with Dr. Leroy Hommerding at the Fort Myers Beach Library where the topic will be “eggs”. We had a good time with him last year and expect more of the same. We will then go to the Island Pancake House for lunch/brunch. Bring cash as the Pancake House does not take credit cards. If you wish to go to the Library on the Chapel bus, please plan to meet Melody at Chapel at 9:50 a.m. For more information on any of the events happening at Chapel please call the office at 463-3173 or visit our website at www.chapelbts.org
