Church food and fund drive this weekend
On Saturday and Sunday (March 19 and 20), the St. Vincent de Paul Society of the Church of Ascension will be sponsoring our Food and Fund Drive to support our pantry at Chapel by the Sea.
During these difficult economic times we are servicing more people on our beach then ever before. We hope to collect enough food to supply our Food Pantry until November. We provide assistance with rent, utility bills, medical expenses, transportation with your money donations.
Food and funds can be dropped off at The Church of the Ascension at the Gazebo Saturday between 3 and 4:30 p.m. and Sunday between 6:45 and 11 a.m.
We particularly need paper towels, canned fruit, peanut butter, canned milk, bottled water, crackers, spaghetti sauce, tuna, canned meat, small boxes of cereal, snack bars, can openers, sunscreen, small bottles of liquid detergent and razors. We are well stocked with baked beans, broth, and tomato soup.
Most people we help do not have a place to cook or have cooking utensils. Please bring no food that needs refrigeration.
