3 min read

There will be an encore production to an event that was held in mid-January.

Due to the success of the Baubles and Noshes Fresh Market and Street Fair/Taste of Santini on Jan. 15, organizers are gearing up for a revised version entitled Artisan Street Fair featuring the restaurants of Santini Marina Plaza in the plaza parking lot on Saturday, Feb. 26.

Event coordinator Bonnie Roberts of Bonnie Roberts Events is looking forward to the fair that will feature an old-fashioned street market with fresh fruits and vegetables, 30-plus arts and crafts vendor booths and tropical steel drum music.

“The restaurant of Santini Marina Plaza and the vendors that are coming to the event are all very excited and are hoping for great weather and another great day,” said Roberts.

While the plaza merchants are open in their own shops that day and invite everyone to drop by, the restaurants of Santini will be under the tents on the main promenade of the Street Fair offering the following fare:

– Skye’s Mexican Restaurant will be offering homemade guacamole and pico de gallo with their own fresh tortilla chips, tacos and enchiladas with Skye’s own special sauce.

– South Beach Bar & Grill will be offering a delectable assortment of their signature dishes!

– Sandbar Bar and Grill offerings include Chicago sausage and peppers, chipotle-style lime pulled pork tacos.

– Castaway’s Bar and Grill will be offering mouth-watering pizza, barbeque ribs and, their specialty, crab cakes.

– Francesco’s Deli will be serving chicken cutlet on homemade bread, meatballs with mozzarella and mini calzones.

– Subway will be serving cold drinks, snacks, their famous fresh brewed ice tea. Coupons will be handed out.

– Truly Scrumptious will start your day with breakfast bagel sandwiches, coffee (regular and decaf) and also serve pulled pork sandwiches with creamy coleslaw, and the best ice cream, pies, brownies and red velvet cake on the island.

– The Fish House Restaurant invites you to come sample a variety of their fresh local seafood featuring their famous coconut shrimp.

The Artisan Street Fair/Taste of Santini event will also have the steel drum island sounds of Steely Pan from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m.

“Join us, it’s another “South end of the Island happening,” said Roberts.

Festival goers are asked to bring a non-perishable food item for the Chapel by the Sea’s food mission. Eric and Melody Tibbs will be collecting the food items at the end of the day.
