ICSL hosts annual fundraiser dinner
How do people come together to feed the hungry, guide the young, visit the sick and aid the needy? They work and volunteer at Interfaith Caregivers of South Lee, Inc. The hungry are not the faceless crowd but they are our neighbors and friends. This past year, requests for assistance have increased dramatically. Neighbors have lost employment, suffered health setbacks and other hardship. The new expanded facility on Rockefeller Way, ICSL has been able to provide assistance in a wide variety of programs in support of our neighbors. Currently the pantry distributes food to 550 families a month, that is, 1700 individuals. Because the threat of hunger continues to affect thousands of families in our community we continue to raise funds to support this work.
Interfaith Caregivers invites you to the annual dinner, Neighbors Working Together! Make room at the table . take the bite out of hunger, on March 12, at Lamb of God Church, 19691 Cypress View Drive, Fort Myers, FL 33967. Our table will be bountiful, thanks to the generosity of Blue Star Seafood Company, Costco, the Hyatt and others. Our own, amateur gourmet chef, Art Nicoletti, will work his magic with seafood, chicken, sausage and more. Doors open at 6 p.m., with dinner starting at 6:30. A live auction featuring savory deserts from local merchants, silent auction and chance drawing items will follow dinner. The evening will be one of fun and fellowship for all. Michelle Burdo, TV personality, has agreed to be our auctioneer for the second year.

Proceeds of this dinner will help to continue ICSL outreach programs such as the food pantry, Meals on Wheels, Online Food Stamp Registration, Financial Assistance, Free Notary and Fax Service, Volunteer Income Tax Assistance and Money Management Classes. ICSL, Estero/San Carlos Park United Way House is a United Way Partner Agency.
