Blessing of the Fleet is March 20
St. Raphael’s by the Sea Anglican Church will host the Shrimp Fleet Blessing for
2011. The Blessing ceremony will take place on Sunday, March 20, at 2:30 p.m. on shrimp docks on San Carlos Island.
Shrimp Fleet owner Dennis Henderson contacted Betty Goodacre and invited St. Raphael’s by the Sea Anglican Church to host the Shrimp Fleet Blessing shortly after the new parish began.
The Rt. Reverend Neil Lebhar, Bishop of the Gulf Atlantic Diocese in the Anglican Church of North America, kindly accepted the shrimpers’ invitation to bless the Shrimp Fleet, according to the local Anglican Church’s rector report.
