Mound House needs volunteers
Mound House will be holding an informational Volunteer Open House on Tuesday, Jan. 18, 2011, from 11:30 a.m. until 2:30 p.m. at Mound House at 289 Connecticut.
Current and prospective volunteers are encouraged to bring a friend and learn about the benefits of volunteering. Light refreshments will be served. Parking is available at 216 Connecticut Street.
Bring history to life “from the ground up,” and help make Mound House an enjoyable experience for the thousands of people who visit each year. Volunteers are an essential part of the Mound House team, and with the opening of the underground “Stories Beneath Our Feet” shell mound exhibit just months away, we have opportunities to suit almost every schedule and interest.
Volunteers are needed to greet visitors, give tours of the exhibit, assist with kayak tours and environmental programs, lend a hand with school groups, set up and staff special events, help in the office, provide maintenance of the grounds, and assist with a variety of other projects.
Volunteering is a great way to expand your horizons and meet new friends, and help us put a friendly face on Mound House and the Town of Fort Myers Beach to its many diverse visitors every year.
