Bank near Summerlin Square is robbed Friday

On Friday, Dec. 31, 2010, at approximately 9:49 a.m., deputies with the Lee County Sheriff’s Office responded to the RBC Bank, located at 16740 San Carlos Boulevard, Fort Myers, in reference to a robbery.

When deputies arrived on scene, they learned from victims and witnesses that a light skinned black male entered the bank and displayed a weapon. The suspect approached a teller, obtained an undisclosed amount of money and left the bank on foot. No injuries occurred during the robbery.

Due to the nature of the incident, detectives assigned to the Lee County Sheriff’s Office Robbery Unit assumed the investigation. Members of the Lee County Sheriff’s Office Aviation and K9 Units also responded to assist in the investigation.
