What’s Happening at Chapel by the Sea
Chapel by the Sea was the first church on our island and remains a church for the community, welcoming all people seeking to know and serve Christ. We are a mission for Jesus Christ and a church for all seasons: seasons of life, seasons of the year, seasons of our growth as Christians.
We invite you to join us as we rejoice in the birth of our savior, Jesus Christ
this Friday, Dec. 24. We will hold two Christmas Eve Candlelight services; at 7 and 9 p.m. Both services will be similar with plenty of music and candle lighting. The 7 p.m. service will be especially meaningful to the younger members of Chapel. A nursery will be provided during that service. We hope that you will come and be a part of this joyous celebration.

What’s Happening at Chapel by the Sea
This is a very exciting time at Chapel by the Sea and we are filled with the Christmas spirit. For many of us this can also be a stressful time filled with chaos. How do we find the peace we sing about in our Christmas hymns?
First- Pray. Praying about our decisions and giving them over to God, even the small ones, makes them seem less pressing. Second- Allow for quality quiet time with God every morning, when Jesus needed peace, He drew apart from the other people to talk with his Father. Finally, let everything we do be Christ-centered. In this way we will be able to truly celebrate Jesus’ free gift of calm, eternal peace. Trusting in Jesus is the only powerful secret of perfect peace!
Some of our Christ-centered missions this season are:
Toys for Immokalee- The children at Guadalupe Center in Immokalee are mostly from migrant worker families; ages from birth through high school. Our Mission Committee will be taking gifts to the children this year. A few ideas are dolls, coloring books, games, sports balls, toy trucks and cars. Teens may appreciate a $20 gift card from Walmart, Target or McDonalds. Gift items can be brought to Chapel through Dec.12 and left in Silver Hall Library or the office.
Living Gift Market- This will be held in Silver Hall each Sunday morning Dec.5-Dec.19 from 9:15-11:45 am. The Living Gift Market is a wonderful way to get out of the gift-giving rut that may have lost it’s meaning. Honor your family, friends, or co-workers by giving gifts in their name to people in need. A few choices are God’s Table, Medical Benevolence Foundation, Heifer International and Habitat for Humanity. Stop by the Market in Silver Hall where we will help you with your order any Sunday morning through Dec.19.
