Lee County Sheriff’s Office announces death investigation
On Saturday, Dec. 04, 2010, at approximately 11:43 a.m., the Lee County Sheriff’s Office responded to the 100 block of Ibis Street on Fort Myers Beach in reference to an unidentified female found floating in a canal.
Emergency responders arrived on scene and determined the individual was deceased. The body was removed by the medical examiner and the investigation turned over to the Lee County Sheriff’s Office Major Crimes Unit. The identification and cause of death are unknown at this time.
