Body found in Beach canal is identified
The Lee County Sheriff’s Office recently released the identity of the lady who was found floating in a canal on Fort Myers Beach last week. She is Valerie Ann Rosenthal, who was born Oct. 31, 1964.
On Saturday, Dec. 4, at approximately 11:43 a.m., deputies responded to the 100 block of Ibis Street on Fort Myers Beach in reference to an unidentified female found floating in a canal. Emergency responders arrived on scene and determined the individual was deceased. The body was removed by the medical examiner and the investigation turned over to the Lee County Sheriff’s Office Major Crimes Unit. The cause of death are still unknown at this time. though foul play is unlikely.
