Lovers Key to hold moonlight kayak tour
The Florida Department of Environmental Protection’s Lover’s Key State Park will hold a Full Moon Kayak Tour through the estuary and inner canal on Sunday, Nov. 21, from 5:30 7:30 p.m.
A two-hour guided paddle will allow participants to enjoy the sights and sounds of the creatures that come to life at night. Participants may bring their own kayaks ($25 fee), or rent a single kayak ($55) or a double ($70), which will include life vest and paddle. Each participant should bring a headlamp, water, bug spray, long-sleeved shirt and water shoes. Call the park at 463-4588 for pre-registration. The tour is part of the 2010 Nature Tour launched by Friends of Lovers Key, a non-profit organization established to protect, preserve and support Lovers Key through volunteer service and financial support.
