Garden club spruces up Times Square

Members of the Estero Island Garden Club met at Plaka’s on Times Square for breakfast before starting to work on the eleven urns located all around Times Square. Plants in the urns were weeded, pruned, cleared of debris, watered and, in some cases, replanted with fresh foliage. Members plan to take turns sprucing up the urns by checking on them once a month from November through June. On Nov. 15, Garden Club members will take a tour of the gardens at Sanibel Moorings and, afterwards, have lunch at the Bubble Room on Captiva Island.
