Boat parade rides Saturday, Dec. 4
Ahoy Fort Myers Boaters! Come and join Santa at sunset on Saturday, Dec. 4, for the Fort Myers Beach Christmas Boat Parade. It is brought to you by the Fort Myers Beach Chamber of Commerce and the Fort Myers Beach Yacht Club and sponsored by Pink Shell Resort and Spa, Captiva Cruises, Pinchers Crab Shack, Sea Tow, Doc Fords, Nervous Nellies and Matanzas Inn.
This is your chance to decorate your boat and have some fun on the water. Decorating talents will be judged on festiveness and creativity with first, second and third place for motor boats and sailboats more than and under 26 feet, plus a “People Choice” award where spectators will also vote for their favorite decorated boat. Everyone is a winner with additional free prizes to all captains and crews present at the awards ceremony following the parade at Matanzas Inn.
Boat captains can pick up a registration form at their favorite marina; visit the Greater Fort Myers Beach Chamber of Commerce at 17200 San Carlos Blvd.; or call the office at 454-7500. According to chamber officials, if it is anything like last year, it will be an exciting event and a great evening of fun for both participants and spectators alike.
