Shell Point Open slated for November
The seventh annual Shell Point Open Golf Tournament, presented by the Legacy Foundation at Shell Point, will be held on Friday, Nov.12, at the Shell Point Golf Club in Fort Myers announced Timothy Stephenson, Executive Director of the Legacy Foundation at Shell Point.
The tournament will raise funds for the Rehabilitation Center at Shell Point, which offers care to individuals with rehabilitation needs in the Southwest Florida area.
“This is the 7th year that we have hosted the Shell Point Open, and we are very pleased to have this opportunity available to us. Golfers and sponsors alike continue to support and enjoy this tournament because of developing friendships and the opportunity to help with a worthwhile cause,” said Stephenson.”The Rehab Center offers excellence in care and services to all individuals who need assistance in recovery from surgeries, stroke, or other ailments that need rehabilitation. This tournament is just one way that we can help individuals receive the best care possible while having some fun.”
The tournament registration will begin at 7:30 a.m. UBS Financial Services Inc, The Scoggins/Moreland Group has offered to be the Title Sponsor for the event. The cost to play in the 2010 Shell Point Open is $125 per person, which includes 18 holes of golf plus cart, player gift bags, prize opportunities, breakfast, and lunch.
The Corporate Sponsors include Wright Construction; Alliance Development Fund; Alexander & Hoover, CPA’s, PA; and Harvey-Engelhardt-Metz Funeral Home.
The Rehabilitation Center at Shell Point provides inpatient, outpatient, and transitional care services to those who have suffered from stroke, orthopedic injury and/or surgery and progressive neurological disease. The Shell Point Rehabilitation services will be offered in a brand new, state-of-the-art facility in The Island neighborhood and is open to Shell Point residents as well as all of Southwest Florida.

The Shell Point Golf Club is an 18-hole Championship Golf Course that opened in 2000. The course is open to the public and is located at the entrance to Shell Point Retirement Community in Fort Myers.
