New restaurant to open in Times Square tomorrow

2 min read

Owners Thomas and Renate List are expected to open the new La Ola Mexican Restaurant on Friday, Oct. 8, on Fort Myers Beach. La Ola, which means “the Wave”, is in the location previously occupied by Burrito a Go-Go in the famed Times Square area.

The restaurant is known for fresh food and authentic recipes, and as a favorite of locals and tourists alike. While the new restaurant will feature much that is familiar, big changes are in store.

“We’ve kept all the good food, and of course, the great location, but we’re offering a more family friendly atmosphere for daytime and adding lots of new excitement in the evenings!” said Thomas List.

The restaurant will open Friday in the same footprint and with its previous outdoor seating. However, work is underway on a new section of the building with covered open-air seating and a large new outdoor bar area. The new addition will feature large overhead fans and unique mood lighting which changes to a whole new look every half hour.

“La Ola will be the hottest new spot to enjoy a cool breeze on any night at Fort Myers Beach!” says List.

With several successful business ventures in Europe, and now here in Florida, the Lists are expanding the international appeal of La Ola. Five languages – German, French, Spanish, and Italian, as well as English – will be spoken at the restaurant.

While Mexican food is the feature, there are lots of other choices on the menu including wraps and USDA Prime burgers. La Ola is open daily. Happy Hour is 3 to 6 p.m. “You’ll enjoy great food, lots of fun, and the most refreshing beverages. We serve the best Cocktails, Sangria, and the coldest beer on the beach!” say the owners.
