Golf outing to benefit food bank

The inaugural “Golfing for Charity” is being offered by Servpro, a fire and water cleanup and restoration company, to benefit the Harry Chapin Food Bank. The tournament, to be held Friday, Oct. 15, at West Bay Club in Estero, will provide both financial support and food items for the food bank.

The cost for each player is $85 and includes cart and green fees, two beverages on the course and the Score Board Party following the tournament. Registration will begin at 8 a.m., with a shotgun start at 9.

All proceeds will benefit the Harry Chapin Food Bank; nonperishable food items will also be collected prior to the tournament. Sponsorships are available.

The Harry Chapin Food Bank solicits, collects and stores quality food for distribution to families in need through a network of more than 170 local nonprofit agencies, who provide food to more than 30,000 people monthly. Over 800,900 pounds of food are distributed monthly. In the past fiscal year, The Harry Chapin Food Bank distributed more than 9.6 million pounds of food and other grocery products.
