Garden club sets meeting

Estero Island Garden Club members gathered at Bowditch Point Park after a memorial service and tree planting for a recently deceased member.
The Estero Island Garden Club will have its first meeting of the 2010-2011 season on Oct. 18, at the Newton House on Estero Boulevard. It will be the first time that the club has held a meeting in this newly remodeled facility, with its beautiful beach front vista and grounds.
Town Cultural Resources Director Theresa Schober will give an update on the progress of the Mound House restoration project and will give a tour of the Newton House and Park.
