Fright Night: A scary good time

1 min read

Many Fort Myers Beach residents, from the youngest to the oldest, went to Halloween Family Fright Night at Bay Oaks Recreation Campus this past Friday night. This community event featured carnival games, a costume contest, a bounce house and a scary haunted house, which the Fort Myers Beach Fire and Rescue Squad helped to construct.

The carnival games were geared to young players so that each child could succeed and win a prize. The costume contest had three winners in seven age groups, ranging from infants to adults. Among the luminaries who judged the contest were Councilman Bob Raymond and community activist Lee Melsek. The whole event was overseen by Nichole Olsen and her staff as well as by a number of adult volunteers, many of whom got into the spirit of the event and came in costume. It was a great night for the Fort Myers Beach community and for Bay Oaks as the center for community functions.

Pictures of the occasion are on page 16.
