BUMW announces meetings
The Beach unit of United Methodist Women have announced two events that you won’t want to miss.
On Thursday, Oct. 7, at 9:30 a.m., the Beach unit of United Methodist Women will learn about human trafficking here in Lee County as well as around the world. You will learn some amazing facts, including the fact that just being aware of the problem is the first and best thing we can do to solve the problem. Come for coffee at the Fellowship Hall at 155 Bay Rd. (behind the Library). Bring your friends. We would be delighted to share this program with them. You do not have to be a member of the Beach United Methodist Women’s organization to attend this worthwhile program.
On Saturday, Oct 9, we will attend the 2010 District Annual Meeting at the First United Methodist Church in Sebring. The theme will be “Sent into the World,” presented by former missionary Wanda Holcombe of Austin, Texas.
Come and be awed by what our local women have accomplished to make the world a better place! Cost of luncheon is $8 and your check, payable to Beach United Methodist Women, must be in the hands of Treasurer Joan Maupin by Oct. 1.
