Beach Baptists list events
The Beach Baptist Church at 130 Connecticut St. (across from Beach Access 22), hosts an array of special and everyday events throughout the seasons for residents and visitors alike.
– The Choice Market
An ongoing event called The Choice Market, is food that is for those in need in a market-style setting, and open Tuesday and Friday, from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m.
If interested in donating to church’s The Choice Market, you may come by any time Tuesday, Wednesday or Friday.
If donating funds, the church utilizes it to purchase from the local Harry Chapin food bank. With just $5, the church can purchase enough food to feed a family of four for one full week.
– Children’s holiday choir
The Children’s Community Christmas Choir rehearsals will begin Wednesday evening, Oct. 13, from 6:15 to 7:15 p.m. for those in kindergarten through 6th grade.
Prior to rehearsal, a free children’s supper is available at 5:30 p.m. if selected. Adults may dine for $3.
– Community Thanksgiving
The church’s Community Thanksgiving meal will be held Thursday, Nov. 25, from noon to 3 p.m., and anytime in between for no charge, and open to the community. A full meal will be served, with all of the trimmings.
– Hallelujah Trunk-or-Treat
The annual Hallelujah Trunk-or-Treat celebration will be held Sunday Oct. 31, from 6 to 9 p.m. This year, there will be plenty of carnival-style fun for all, including hot dogs, cotton candy, ice cream, snow cones, popcorn, and of course, trunk-loads of candy, along with a bounce house and more.
– Regular church activities
Breakfast is held at 9 a.m. every Sunday morning at no charge.
Bible study is at 9:30 a.m. Sunday.
Worship Celebration, more of a relaxed setting, is at 10:30 a.m. Sunday.
Movie nights are held once a month with free popcorn and appetizers, featuring a family-friendly movie. There is no charge to attend. Appetizers begin at 6:30 p.m., and the movie begins at 7. The next movie night is Sunday, Oct. 17, featuring the major film, “Rust,” (2010), rated PG and starring Corbin Bernson.
