1 min read

On the anniversary of the 9/11 terrorist attacks, a number of businesses and organizations from the Fort Myers area have joined Florida’s Blood Centers to hold a blood drive and Red Cross Fundraiser event at Page Field Commons at 4995 S. Cleveland Ave. on Saturday, Sept, 11, from 7 a.m. to 7 p.m.

The event serves as a tribute to those who lost their lives on Sept. 11, 2001.

All registered donors will receive a “Remember 9/11” special edition t-shirt. They will also be entered into various raffles including a Grand Prize Drawing where the winner will receive a two-night stay at the Best Western Beach Resort, two roundtrip tickets on the Key West Express and a gift certificate to Nervous Nellie’s on Fort Myers Beach.

Donations save the lives of trauma patients, premature babies, cancer patients and people needing surgery. Every donation benefits someone in our community. Anyone eligible to donate is encouraged to call 1-888-9DONATE for questions about donating blood. Donors should be at least 16 years old and weigh at least 102 pounds. There is no upper age limit.
