1 min read

On Wednesday, Sept. 22, 2010, at approximately 8:27 p.m., deputies with the Lee County Sheriff’s Office Highway Interdiction Unit pulled over a 1988 BMW traveling southbound on I-75 for an inoperative tag light. Deputies made contact with the driver, identified as Kareem A. Hodge (DOB 6/16/82), of 1333 Hampton Boulevard, Pompano Beach. While speaking to Hodge, they noticed a glass bottle of Jamaican champagne laying beside the vehicle’s center console.

During questioning, deputies noticed indicators of illegal activity. They learned Hodge was carrying a loaded pistol, but had a concealed weapons permit.

Deputies also noticed a bundle of cash totaling almost two-thousand dollars in Hodge’s front pocket.

Deputies were then granted permission to search the suspect’s vehicle. Inside the trunk, deputies located a cooler containing two pounds of marijuana. Hodge was arrested and taken to the Lee County Jail. He’s been charged with one count of Possession of Marijuana and one count of Possession of a Firearm During the Commission of a Felony.
